Ultralink™ Logging Panel (ULP)

As part of the logging acquisition system the ULP module supplies power to the logging tools and acts as the surface communications interface. The ULP can send up to 200VDC and 350mA to operate the logging tools.

Connected directly to the Depth Interface Unit via a USB port the ULP sends tool signals, transmitted uphole from the tools via Ultralink^TM telemetry, to the logging computer. The module contains a power supply, user controls and displays, a USB interface to communicate with a PC and USB Depth Interface Unit, and an Ultralink^TM communications modem to provide telemetry up and down the logging cable to the XTU at the top of the toolstring.
