The 1 11/16in CBT evaluates cement bond integrity. A slotted sleeve
technology provides superior isolation, rigidity and tool strength.
Piezoelectric crystal sensors at 3ft and 5ft spacings detect areas where
cement is poorly bonded to pipe. A robust and reliable tool, the CBT
combines with standard pulse tools, runs on all standard wireline, and
is compatible with all surface systems.
Description
The CBT measures based upon the principle of Sonic Wavetrain Attenuation, detecting the amplitude of a sonic signal passing along the casing as an analog waveform. The signal is reduced where the casing is bonded to the cement. Cement bonds are clearly identified. Two additional pulse channels enable the CBT to operate in tandem with other standard pulse tools.
