Sondex Ultrawire Memlog Readme ============================== This program supports Sondex Ultrawire Memory Tools (UMTs) and DTR004/005 Depth Time Recorders. Only USB versions of the MCU and UMU interfaces can be used. It will run on Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7. Only 32-bit editions are supported, 64-bit editions cannot be used. The user must have local administrator rights. An installation of Warrior V7 is required for this program to operate. Certain functions will work with Warrior in demo mode but creation of a database with the merged output requires a licensed installation. Known restrictions on Windows Vista and Windows 7: --------------------------------------------------------------------- Help files use the WinHlp32 system which is not distributed with Windows Vista or Windows 7. Users must download and install the WinHlp32 package from Microsoft. From Windows Vista onwards, Microsoft has introduced tighter security on the file system and registry. In particular, the Program Files folder and subfolders cannot be written to by standard users. Even administrators cannot write to these folders when running programs with User Account Control (UAC) enabled as this automatically switches administrators back to standard users when running normal programs. For this reason, User Account Control must be switched to Off on Windows Vista and to Never Notify on Windows 7. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Operational Tips: --------------------------------------------------------------------- The Help file contains an Operational Tips section highlighting important information about running jobs. Other changes and bug fixes: ---------------------------- Pass names are now limited to 7 characters as Warrior Recalculation adds 2 and there is an overall limit of 9. ADPTH and LSPD calculations are now correct for metric depth. DPT settings dialog now copes with a comma as the system decimal symbol. V1.10 25 May 2005 ================= Requirements: ------------- The UMT firmware must be updated to at least V4. The Warrior Ultrawire Memory module (UWMemory.dll) must be updated to at least V1.1.0.0 and its associated initialisation file (Ultrawire.ini) to at least V1.10. New features: ------------- Support for MTT added, with Setup profiles. MTTs shipped before February 2005 will need a firmware upgrade to work on memory - contact Customer Services for details. Setup profiles can also be used for setting the MIT compression mode. Online help added. Other changes and bug fixes: ---------------------------- Memory usage checks added during profile saving and programming and warning messages given if the profile doesn't fit. Opening an MIT in command mode with old motor controller firmware should no longer time out. Detection of metres/feet in DTR/DPT conversion improved.
