Sondex Ultrawire Memlog Readme ============================== This program supports the Ultrawire Memory Tool (UMT) and DTR04/05 depth-time recorders. Only the USB version of the MCU interface can be used. It will run on Windows 2000, Windows XP and Windows Vista although Sondex recommends Windows XP. The minimum MCU driver (SXMCULDR.SYS) version required is V1.0.0.6. although V1.0.0.8 or later should be used. Drivers are available on the CD or the Sondex website. Warrior V7.00 or later is required for this program to operate. Certain functions will work with Warrior in demo mode but creation of a database with the merged output requires a licensed installation. Note that there are a number of updates to Warrior to support Ultrawire Memlog, these must be installed separately. Finally, please check the website or CD for UMT firmware updates. Firmware can be uploaded to the tool using Ultrawire Memlog. Known restrictions on Windows Vista: --------------------------------------------------------------------- Help files use the WinHlp32 system which is not distributed with Windows Vista. Users must download and install the WinHlp32 package from Microsoft (see http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=917607). Windows Vista has introduced tighter security on the file system and registry. In particular, the Program Files folder and subfolders cannot be written to by standard users. Even administrators cannot write to these folders when running programs with User Account Control (UAC) enabled as this automatically switches administrators back to standard users when running normal programs. When you try and write a file (including ini files) as a standard user to a Program Files location, the write appears to succeed. However, the file is actually redirected to a Virtual Store location C:\Users\user_name\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\program_ name. There are a number of ways of changing this behaviour (search support.microsoft.com for details). The easiest is to run as an administrator and switch User Account Control off on the machine. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Release History =============== V1.45 20 Nov 2009 ================= New features: ------------- Added support for RBT decimation 3. RBT project ini files must be recreated to support the new feature. Other changes and bug fixes: ---------------------------- More obvious warning message when programming the tool. Added more error logic when using DTR speed change threshold. Fixed realtime monitoring of data after a sleep profile. MTT manual gains < 10 deleted - tool doesn't support them. Calibration passes always start at tool time 0. V1.41 17 Oct 2008 ================= New features: ------------- Added facility to produce a Pass Summary Sheet. Added option to display average real value or frequency value when merging MTT data. Other changes and bug fixes: ---------------------------- Fixed a buffer overflow problem when using a large number of profile lines with setup parameters (eg when logging MTTs). Added more error logic when decoding DTR data. V1.40 10 Jan 2007 ================= Changes: -------- Added option to display average finger value or average inclinometer value when merging MIT data. Improved checks during memory erasing. Added option to start Warrior Recalculation at end of Output Passes. Bug fix in profile editor when dealing with times of 59.5 and greater. Changed the depth spike filter for the DTR to work with a speed change threshold rather than a depth change threshold. Improved sync recovery when processing DTR data. V1.31 02 Aug 2006 ================= Requirements: ------------- The MCU driver should be updated to at least V1.0.0.8. Changes: -------- MCU operations changed to reduce instances of locking up. V1.30 02 May 2006 ================= Requirements: ------------- The UMT firmware should be updated to at least V20. The MCU driver should be updated to at least V1.0.0.7. New features: ------------- Battery voltage and current now logged during open and close profiles. Added option to check erased memory on programming or from Tool menu. Added retry option for chip erase failure. Attempts to prevent computer going into standby during MCU operations. Added Full or Summary listing options for DAT to Text output. Other changes and bug fixes: ---------------------------- Added extra sample rate options to the profile editor. Chip erase time now written to the log file. Vismerge labels fixed on non-white backgrounds. More checks on tool communications before programming and downloading. Fixed bug where the Depth Shift in Output Options was not applied. Profile uploading now takes place before erase of logging memory. Better error listings in DAT to Text output. Monitor window shows power on time as well as tool time. The Warrior Ultrawire Memory module (UWMemory.dll) is updated, if necessary, on program startup. V1.20 02 Sep 2005 ================= Requirements: ------------- The UMT firmware should be updated to at least V8. The MCU driver should updated to at least V1.0.0.7. New features: ------------- Job sheet added. Added check of data during download and automatic redownload of data blocks if errors are detected. Other changes and bug fixes: ---------------------------- Pass names are now limited to 7 characters as Warrior Recalculation adds 2 and there is an overall limit of 9. ADPTH and LSPD calculations are now correct for metric depth. DPT settings dialog now copes with a comma as the system decimal symbol. Added flash manufacturer's ID to the log file along with other status information, including download status. V1.10 25 May 2005 ================= Requirements: ------------- The UMT firmware must be updated to at least V4. The Warrior Ultrawire Memory module (UWMemory.dll) must be updated to at least V1.1.0.0 and its associated initialisation file (Ultrawire.ini) to at least V1.10. New features: ------------- Support for MTT added, with Setup profiles. MTTs shipped before February 2005 will need a firmware upgrade to work on memory - contact Customer Services for details. Setup profiles can also be used for setting the MIT compression mode. Online help added. Other changes and bug fixes: ---------------------------- Memory usage checks added during profile saving and programming and warning messages given if the profile doesn't fit. Opening an MIT in command mode with old motor controller firmware should no longer time out. Detection of metres/feet in DTR/DPT conversion improved.
